This album was recorded "live" in the studio on January 2nd, 3rd and 4th 1990 to analog 24 track with a seven piece band; all of Grant's guitar solos are first takes with no "fixing". Rhythm guitars were recorded at the end of each days' session.

A three hour overdub session for the horn section was held on January 14th, and a two hour session for the string section was held on January 15t.

The album was mixed January 17th, 18th, 19th nd 28th to an Ampex half inch two track (at 30 ips) utilizing the Dolby C Spectral Recording System.
