Great Raven takes it’s name from a dream had of Philip Lithman AKA Snakefinger.

Born on 21/06 this album documents the Summer Solstice from rising through to nightfall. It tells a story of a persons every changing disposition over one day.

A concept album of sorts. The idea was realised out of frustration for songs being over-long, a short attention span and the idea of making a point swiftly.

A love for albums such as Todd Rundgren’s ‘A Wizard A True Star’ and Van Dyke Parks ‘Song Cycle’ cemented the style of this recording.

Influences include Laurie Anderson, Arthur Russell, Meredith Monk & Karen Dalton...
