Over the course of the past twenty years, Gregory Isaacs has maintained his position as reggae's number one star. Always with an ear to the music's developing trends, he is nowadays scoring dancehall hits in the new ragga idiom.

The majority of these recordings from the mid to late seventies were hits for Gregory. All bar the final two tracks were produced by Alvin Ranglin at Harry J and Channel One studios in Jamaica and feature the dynamic Sly and Robbie amongst the accompanying musicians. One of his biggest hits 'My Number One', is heard here in its extended version, as is 'Border'. These and the other melancholy songs in this collection are delivered in Gregory's distinctive, heartbreaking style.
