Grimes wrote a song with Blood Diamonds titled "Go" that was supposed to be for Rihanna, but when the pop singer turned it down, Grimes decided to keep it for herself.
The song was debuted live at the Governors Ball Music Festival 2014.
The studio version was premiered on Zane Lowe BBC radio show on the 26th of June and was made available via Grimes' Soundcloud page immediately afterwards. The track was available for download for one week afterwards.

The sticker on the sleeve of the promo CD quotes many comments dated June 26 and thus most likely have been released in the beginning of July. It also states that Go single will be released by 4AD on September 1st.
