Jack Anderson wrote “I Am Proud” in tribute to his father, Grover Anderson. Years later, he named his son after him as well. Jack asked Grover the Younger to play “I Am Proud” at Grover the Elder’s memorial service, and he later recorded it to honor both his father and grandfather.
