Since the release of the legendary track LSD in 1994, the music produced by Simon Posford under the name Hallucinogen has been considered in a league of its own, idolized by dancers and DJs worldwide for its layered synth sounds, rhythmic momentum, evocative harmonies, and beautiful melodies. Over the course of a dozen years, Posford produced fabled, cutting-edge compositions that made him a seminal figure in the global trance scene.

This two-part vinyl collection is the first ever comprehensive tribute to include all of Posford’s original solo Hallucinogen productions released on myriad labels between 1994 and 2006.

This first 4-disc volume includes the two Hallucinogen albums, while the second 5-disc set available later in 2023 will feature singles from Dragonfly, TIP, and Twisted labels, as well as releases from various compilations. Remixes of other producers’ tracks will not be included, nor are collaborative compositions or remixes by others. What we have here is pure, essential Hallucinogen.

The debut Hallucinogen album Twisted was an instant classic upon its release in October 1995, the first true artist album that was born and bred in the scene, a model of creative production and arrangement. The unparalleled bestseller was followed in September 1997 by The Lone Deranger, a collection of eight chart-topping dancefloor-filling numbers as acclaimed as its predecessor.

These two iconic albums stand as a testament to the halcyon days of a global movement of mind-expanding acoustic artistry, eternal classics chronicling a pivotal time in the evolution of psychoactive electronic dance music and the prodigious output of one of its most innovative and venerated emissaries.

The tracks have been remastered by Kevin Metcalfe at Soundmasters and the vinyl cut by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road. Original Artwork by Mark Neal, with additional artwork by Calx."
