Album Info

Release Date: 1973

Label: Darnok

Some background information on this record:
It is a record by ex Würzburg councilor and comedian Hanns Hirsch on the local saga "Würzburger Marktbärwel". Spoken poems alternate with musical interludes by "Gebrüder Pfarr" brass band and choir.

Back then, Hanns would dress up as the Marktbärwel and tell tales in heavy frankonian dialect on stage. The cover features a devotion text by 1973 Würzburg mayor Dr. Klaus Zeitler, as well as a picture of Hanns dressed as Marktbärwel.
The record was released to support the 1973 built Marktbärwel fountain, funded by a city renovation project. The fountain can still be seen today on the Würzburg market square.
