The music is set in the not-so-fictitious land of "Mountain Home", which is an expanse untouched by the grime of civilization, and where Nature reigns supreme.
"A Beginning" serves as a solid introduction to this wondrous place, and we see it for the first time through the eyes of its maker and caretaker: The Shepherd, who at this moment sits calmly at the edge of the tallest hill of Mountain Home, awaiting his loyal Bheem (his goat), who carries an important piece of news from the grim and unforgiving lands of Bharari Ghat (The Nether Worlds).
"A Beginning" portrays the elements of nature in her most accepting and motherly fashion. Her hands reach out as if to guide our misguided thoughts and actions, and to help her children maintain the light of reason and truth in the midst of the most depriving of conundrums.
As if to somberly whisper in our ever-ringing and benumbed ears that though as a culture we may be slowly but surely forgetting where we come from and to who we belong, that though we may be laboriously treading down the narrow paths of decadence overgrown with blight, her ever-benign and protecting ways will never cease to pour its care on her straying children.
