About this release:

“But I know the world is still a beautiful place.”

The creation of Memory Drift became a process of reflection inspired by the re-memory and recital of personal experiences spanning several years. The earliest elements were originally recorded in 2013, while ‘Will Our Hearts Burn Forever?’ was created during lockdown and completed during autumn 2020 - finding both myself, and the world, in a very different place.

The album shifts between ambient textures, text to speech sound collage, field recordings and long-form drone, echoing the drifting nature of memory recall. These memory fragments evoke a nostalgia for the recent past and reveal how - despite a constant state of flux - hope still guides us like clouds drifting across sky.

- Ryan Hooper (Heavy Cloud)

Pro-dubbed (Ferric Oxide) tape housed in a frosted-white shell; titling and logo in black. The tape sits in an o-card wrapped up in a maltese cross card box, which is ink-stamped with the artist/album name. This is finished with a black ribbon tie, with a burgundy wax 'MBX' seal. The artwork on the o-card was designed and created by the artist.

Each tape contains a unique four word cut-up poem - no single one is the same - on recycled sugar paper, made up of an original piece of a deconstructed collage. Each one is signed by the artist. There's also included a cardboard print of an original black and white collage created by the artist - especially for the release - with the artist/album name on the reverse.

Edition of 20.
