Recorded at George Benson's Lahaina Sound Recording Studio, Maui, Hawaii. Mixing done there also. Don Gooch's mixing occurred at Rudy Records in Los Angeles. Mastered at A&M Studios in Los Angeles. Song A2a usually is titled "Ka Makani Ka‘ili Aloha." Waltz A4b is more often spelled "He Punahele No Oe" or "He Punahele No ‘Oe." Song B1 is Kaahea's merger of "Pauoa Like Lehua" or possibly "Pauoa Liko Ka Lehua" and "Hiilawe." The songwriter credits are difficult to expand into complete names.
