Although 100% Hawaiian, Henry Kapono Kaaihue has mostly performed contemporary music with rock influences. In "The Wild Hawaiian," Kapono takes mostly traditional Hawaiian songs and chants and redoes them with intense rock and roll arrangements. The musicians backing Henry Kapono include Lopaka Colon (percussion and sound effects), Rick Gilbert (drums), John Hawes (bass and background vocals)and a musician who calls himself Boom (on Hammond B-3).
