'But My Computer Knows' was written and recorded by Smoke and Plug (SMUG) in 1984 as a result of conversations about where the advent of personal computers may eventually lead. Some of the ideas seemed a bit far-fetched at that time (5 years or so pre-World Wide Web) but with hindsight, the lyrics proved an accurate prediction. It was released as a single under the band name 'ICQ'.
The song was self engineered and produced using guitars, an SCI Prophet 5 synthesiser with dedicated step input sequencer, and an EMU Drumulator, on analogue multi track equipment. Personnel are:
Keith Abingdon: (lead vocals and guitars)
