Original self-released version. Initially released by the band in Spring of 1993. 600 copies were made, and sold out within two months. After these initial copies were sold out, the band sold these with the original cover on a dubbed cassette until the band was signed to Wild Rags and the associated reissue became available. Reissued by Wild Rags in Winter 1993/1994 on cassette and CD, and later by Gutted Records and GWB Records on 7".

Although the cover states that backing vocals on Despoilment of Rotted Flesh were performed by Darryl Wagner of Pyrexia, he never showed up to the studio, and the backing vocals were performed by Bill Tolley only.
