Album Info

Release Date: 2003

Label: RZ Records

This recording has a double intertwining groove on one-sided vinyl. One of the tracks contains the original lyrics to I'll House You by the Jungle Brothers (From which Dave Clarke got the sample "Feel the bass").

Either the intertwining groove is difficult to find by simply dropping the needle in many different places or not all pressings have the intertwining groove. In the event that there are single-track versions it would be appropriate to create a separate release.

I think it's time to let the trick to this record be known now, it's been out for nearly 20 years.
If you begin the record with the needle in the groove with the Jungle Brothers vocal sample "Girl I'll House You", you end up playing an instrumental track with no bass line.
However If you begin the record with the needle in the groove that begins with no vocal, just a beat, you end up playing the groove with the Jungle Brothers vocal and a bass line throughout the record.
On my copy both tracks begin at the same place, so you cannot simply put a mark on the vinyl where to start as it corresponds to both tracks.
I would have thought they'd be the other way round, vocal at start = vocal version etc, but they aren't.
At least that's how my copy is. I put some decent work into finding out how to start this record off years ago when it caught me out in the club. That never happened again.
It's possible other pressings are different, if there's several batches, but mine is this way.
