Say It Live And Loud (08.26.68 Live In Dallas) by James Brown

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1998

Label: Polydor

Recorded on four-track tape, August 26, 1968, Dallas Memorial Auditorium, Dallas, Texas.
Mixed 1998 from the original multi-tracks at Polygram Studios.
Digital Editing and 20-Bit Mastering at Polygram Studios.

James Brown and his Orchestra's performances are previously unreleased, except for "Tighten Up", "Licking Stick" and "There Was A Time", which have appeared on various Brown anthologies produced in the nineties. Since the show was newly mixed from top to bottom for this release, those performances have slightly different mixes than when first presented on, respectively, "Soul Pride: The Instrumentals 1960-1969", "Foundations Of Funk: A Brand New Bag 1964-1969" and "Star Time", a 4-CD box set.

The 20-pages CD booklet with photos, liner notes and discographic annotations recreates some elements of the original tour program/souvenir booklet sold at the show. This release contains Maceo Parker's sales pitch for the program booklet on an unlisted track.
