Although this is a live album with Jarre playing songs his backcatalog, it also contains seven new songs. On this ´2022` edition the focus is on these new songs. The new versions contain parts from the original studio recordings for the original album. Yes the original ´The Concerts In China´ album contains so much overdubs and re-recordings, you could hardly call it a live album.
Remarkable is the beautiful 1994 re-recording of ´Fishing Junks At Sunset´. Bonus tracks include the studio re-recording of ´Magnetic Fields II´ (without the ´live´ effects), a spacy Cosmic Version of ´Souvenir Of China´, an unedited 1981 live version of ´Orient Express´ (including the audience playing on the portable mini keyboard), the music video version of ´Fishing Junks At Sunset´ (different middle section that on the original album) and the astonishing live version of ´Souvenir Of China´ from the La Defense concert in Paris 1995.
