Joe Thomas Sings Your Requests by Joe Thomas

Album Info

Label: Akron Baptist Temple

Here is an album consisting of songs that you have asked Mrs. Thomas to sing through the many years he has been before the public. Whether as a soloist, music director, evangelistic song leader, evangelistic song leader, or quartet man, he has tried to pleas his many friends by singing their requests under two conditions:
1. "Is it a song that will please God?"
2. "Can I sing the song in a manner that will honor and glorify the Son of God?"
Since joining the staff of the Akron Baptist Temple, as music director, in January, 1958, Mr. Thomas has found the pattern well-defined, in that the songs most requested are songs with great messages and permit him much liberty in singing them. The fine instrumental talent at the Akron Baptist Temple is used to good advantage on this album as Mr. Thomas sings "Sunrise," "Mother's Prayers Have Followed Me," and "Zion's Hill" accompanied by Mrs. Charles Smith, organist; and Mrs. "Doc" Floyd, Pianist. Mr. Clyde White at the Piano and Mrs. Paul Outland at the organ provide excellent background music for the selections "Follow Me," "Some Golden Daybreak," "Precious Memories," and "I'm Thankful." "Down From His Glory," "I Am Not Worthy," "Ten Thousand Angels" and "He Washed My Eyes With Tears," are enjoyable listening with the keyboard artistry of Miss Georgia Fletcher complimenting the voice of Mr. Thomas. It is the sincere wish of each of these that this alum will be a blessing to you."
