Standard two-sided J-card with no extra fold-out panels. Printed by interpak (logo appears twice on J-card).Eet Kreef ! is the first studio album by Johannes Kerkorrel and the Gereformeerde Blues Band. Released in 1989, the album was a commercial success despite a number of the songs on the album being banned from radio stations controlled by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
All in all, six of the nine songs on the album were banned from being played on SABC radio, and for a variety of reasons. This did not have an impact on sales and the entire first pressing of the album sold out within one week.
The title of the album, Eet Kreef ! translates to "Eat Crayfish !" Although, in many parts of the world, "crayfish" (crawfish, crawdids, crawdads, etc.) is a reference to a small freshwater crustacean resembling a lobster, in South Africa it is a reference to members of a few species of spiny rock lobster found off the coast of Southern Africa.
