[The Messiah is a cornerstone recording in the history of Sparrow Records. As executive producer, Billy Ray Hearn's intention was to make this 1979 recording more friendly to the "man in the pew" by using a choral conductor, John Alldis, and modern orchestration. There was no attempt to be authentic or "purist." The purpose was to show this to be the greatest praise and worship composition ever. Billy Ray Hearn poured his passion for classical music into this and other classic projects such as "Hymns Triumphant" and "Majesty & Glory." We would like to continue in the "spirit" of Handel's Messiah this year as we relaunch this timeless testimony to God's goodness and faithfulness.]

Recorded in All Saints Church, Franciscan Road, Tooting, London, England.
