The key artistic idea behind this trio project is the interaction between the tonal, rhythmic and temporal aspects of the vocal readings and the music. The overall structure is loosely based on Kurt Schwitters' "Ursonate". The title of the album -- "Radio fra ura" -- is a word play on the Norwegian word 'ur', which may be translated as 'scree', or (stone) 'rubble', but which also -- used as a prefix -- may mean 'first', 'original' or 'primeval', as in Schwitters' title.

The cover sleeve gives all track titles in Norwegian, English and Japanese. The Norwegian and English titles, with the sign '=' as separator, are listed above.

The text read by Ragnhild Vannebo on track B3 is taken from the book "Felemakaren" by Edvard Hoem. Edvard Hoem and Kristoffer Uppdal read theor own texts. Uppdal's reading of "Avreise mot Glitretind" is from a surviving recording. The vocals of Jon Pål Inderberg on track A1 is not noted on the sleeve.

The lithography "Hode" ("Head"), created by the Norwegian artist Håkon Bleken, was inspired by Arne Garborg's poem "Haugtussa", with music written by Edvard Grieg.
