Jonathan Winters had been cutting radio and television commercials for several years by the time of this private release. When booked for a session with a client, they always booked extra time because Jonathan would sideline the sessions by going off into little comedy jaunts with his ad lib characters to crack up the musicians and other (serious) announcer. These were collected from session tapes and traded in the industry as gifts. Somewhere along the line, somebody, possibly Jonathan himself, took some of the best-of materials and pressed them into this package.

Here you have clips from various identifiable clients like L&M Cigarettes, and Nestles Chocolate Cups and a lot of the material here was much further out than his Verve releases and could be rather blue. From references in the material, most of it seems to date from 1958-1962.

The last five tracks are more of that material that was cut to pass around among the session participants, not for public release.

This record was also re-released for sale as : Jonathan Winters - College Humor using the same pressing plates as the original issue.

Some labels are blank white, and some are white with the "Collectors Item from JW" printed in black.

Re-issued on CD by Laugh Dome Records in 2008.
