The saxophonists Josep Lluís Galiana & Ferran Besalduch are two specialists in free improvisation. Artists of recognized international prestige, Besalduch & Galiana present their first record work. STROMBÒTICS (Liquen Records, 2017) is a selection of improvised pieces recorded live at the concerts held at the Stromboli culture and cinema classroom in Sant Mateu and at the Carles Santos Auditorium of the Caixa Vinaròs Foundation (Castelló), in 2016 December 8 and 10.
The music made by Galiana & Besalduch is the result of decades of study and exploration in different genres and musical styles. From a markedly contemporary outlook to the most extreme free jazz, these two long-established musicians go into each concert in sound waters that are always unknown, unpredictable and absolutely surprising. After the successes of the public and critics of their first meetings in the improvisation sessions of Badalona and Bilbao, and of the concerts in Sant Mateu and Vinaròs, Galiana & Besalduch have embarked on a stable duo project and international launch with their participation in important festivals and concert cycle.
