In 1990, Kaiser Nietzsche (John Kamevaar and Thomas Handy) created a piece for improvisation - 2 players, each with a microphone, a delay unit, an amplified speaker. The piece was called "Send" and consisted entirely of feedback sounds. They performed the piece in concerts in Toronto and Montreal in 1991.
In 2000, John and Thomas returned to "Send" in several recording sessions and in 2002, John selected 17 segments from these.
"Returnal", 2012, marks the first release of these tracks.
