Never See Me Again by Kanye West

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 2010-10-23

Label: Good Music

This track surfaced in October 2010, not long after a snippet leaked, and about a month before Dark Fantasy was released.

Hypetrak claims this song is “dedicated to the whole Taylor Swift-incident”. Although many have also speculated that this would be Kanye’s final song before committing suicide.

During the time of this leak, many articles came out about Kanye’s struggle with mental health. Even him admitting that he had contemplated suicide.

To forward this claim, the sample eerily resembles the rhythm of Fukari Dake no CEREMONY by Yukiko Okada, who had committed suicide on April 8, 1986 by jumping off a 7 story building.
Fans have connected the disturbing story to his song POWER, which alludes to jumping off a building near the end of the song.

Before Okada’s suicide, she had written and left a bunch of notes. Dealing with her unrequited love for actor Tōru Minegishi. One note especially saying “I wanted to see him again… My heart has nowhere to go.” Having a very similar title to the leak.

Some have also noted that there’s a subtle similarity between this track and the contrastingly titled “See Me Now” from this same era.
