Label variant with black ® symbol next to the thumb print logo and a single line of bottom rim text: "Blue Thumb Records, Inc. Beverly Hills, Calif." (No mention of Gulf+Western.) Compare to How Are Things In Your Town? which is similar but omits the registration symbol.

Columbia, Pitman pressing, identified by "P" stamped off-angle in runouts before the matrix number.

This collection is assembled from four Ken Nordine albums that were recorded annually from 1957 to 1960. Only a limited number of copies were finally pressed when the label ran into financial troubles.

"What Time Is It", "The Vidiot", "Roger", "Hunger Is From", "Looks Like Rain" & "Flibberty Jib" are from Word Jazz (Dot DLP 3075) recorded in the spring of 1957.
"Miss Cone", "Outer Space", "Down The Drain", "Anytime, Anytime" & "Lemming" are from Son Of Word Jazz (Dot stereo DLP 25096) recorded in the spring of 1958.
"Mr. Big", "Smerd", "Bury-It Yourself Time Capsule", "Manned Space Capsule" & "The Whistler" are from Next Word Jazz (Dot DLP 3196) recorded in the spring of 1959.
"Reaching Into In", "Fireflies", "Confessions of 349-18-5171", "You're Getting Better" & "Original Sin" are from Word Jazz Volume Two (Dot DLP 3301) recorded in the spring of 1960. "Pacing" is also from this session, but has never before been released.

Nordine's poem Terrible parable is reproduced on sleeve.
Packaged in a gatefold sleeve.

Runouts are etched except 'P, A 3, ' are stamped.
