"Cycles" is a tribute to my little brother and best friend, who suddenly passed away in 2022.
It is a deeply personal solo piano record and the recording process was an emotionally challenging journey.
My brother held a special place in my heart and this record is my way of processing emotions and honoring his memory. He was someone who always received my first drafts in music and art. His support and feedback were invaluable to me.
This EP is a diary of events, a dedication to him and bears his inscription.
Through these compositions, I aim to capture the feelings and emotions that followed his passing - from the shock of receiving the first call to the solemnity of the funeral and the profound sadness and introspection that followed.
The themes of loss, grief and dealing with endings are universal and I hope that through this record, listeners can find solace and comfort in knowing that they are not alone. "Cycles" is a reflection on the cycle of life and the inevitability of endings, but also a celebration of my brother's beautiful life and the memories we shared together.
The artwork shows him on our last trip together, in the midst of a hurricane - the picture is a mirror of his character and my thoughts and emotions about his death.
