The Göran Svensson Programmable Signal Distributor

Buchla Electronic Music System

The Swedish works on this record are the result of a workshop which took place at Fylkingen in 1976. In collaboration with a number of composers, Knut Sönstevold designed a project which was to result in a number of works for bassoon and electronically processed sounds. This idea had originally been conceived while studying under Werner Kaegi in Utrecht, and is concerned with the development of a system for live-electronics. For this purpose, Göran Svensson, designer at the Electronic Music Studio in Stockholm, built an electronic connector box which gives instantaneous switching from one sort of processing to another. The compositions on this record are performable only with this technique, which is also used to realize Stockhausen's composition.

Liner notes in English and Swedish on back cover, in French and German on insert.
