Album Info

Release Date: 2015

Label: Hotspur

In spring 1972, both Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge were in the earliest phase of their storied recording careers, and just starting their rise to stardom. On this broadcast on WPLJ in New York City, Kristofferson presented highlights from his first albums, including “Jesus Was a Capricorn,” “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” and his Top Forty pop hit “Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again).” For the last few songs, Coolidge took the stage to perform a few songs on her own and with Kristofferson, the pair dueting on one of Kristofferson’s most famous compositions, “Help Me Make It Through the Night.”
