PRE-ORDER - START SHIPING THE 20TH JUNE!Thank you for supporting Discodelic’s “Walk On” series! This is the second sprint of releases, featuring four more obscurities from four more uncelebrated unsung heroes of the Panamanian psychedelic rock scene of the 1960s and ‘70s.
In case you missed the first round, the “Walk On” series is a celebration of Panama’s largely undocumented Psychedelic latin rock scene. Spread across seven 45s, in collaboration with Tamayo Records, we’re proud to bring you 14 selections from a dozen rock outfits of that era and area (all of which have never been issued outside of Panama) to uplift and eulogize the small but fervent rock and roll scene of the Panama Canal Zone. Once all seven 45s are launched, an accompanying book will also be made available that details Panama’s incredibly unique and scrappy rock history, with in-depth write-ups and interviews with many of the musicians whose work appears as part of this effort.
However, it must be noted that, because these recordings were made almost 50 years ago, contacting members from some of the featured acts was incredibly difficult if not unsuccessful. Many bands (like in the case of Los Misticos and The Meditators) only ever recorded one 45, and because the recording ledgers did not survive to the present, names and contacts have been lost to time. Hence, we are currently unable to tell their story.
Please enjoy these recordings, and as always, stay tuned.Reissue producer & curator project: Ruffy TNT (Discodelic, Discos Viajantes)
