"Progressive Decay is a set of six pieces designed to be layered. The influence came from Spanish composer Juan Hidalgo's avant garde classic Rrose Sélavy (Cramps Records, CRSLP 6113, Italy, 1977). Layer one is a simple field recording. By layer six, the field recording has been added to with (in order) glockenspiel, gamelan, bowed psaltery, FM synthesizer, and granular sampler. I have included the source layers so the listener may arrange the layers in any combination. This is the first in a series of forthcoming decay compositions."
