This is an original cassette tape from the mid eighties which was used to record the Cliché demos.
It is one of just two original cassettes from that period, having remained hidden in a box of old tapes since the mid 1980s.
The songs are credited to Ger Ryan, Ger being a diminutive for Gerard in Limerick, Ireland.
The demos is credited to Cliche and not Le Cliché. The name was changed for the Medical Records release in 2014 to distinguish the artist from a long list of artists called Cliche on iTunes.
The track 'I dreamt I was dead' appears on the 2014 Medical Records album as 'I woke up this morning'.
The cassette has been placed in a new Art Box Set, placing it with various objects from the period.
The most significant addition is the 3 pages of original hand written lyrics for the track 'What's Your Poison?'.
The full contents are:
Black box with cassette symbol
Orignal Cliché demo cassette (one of only two made)
Original hand-written song lyrics to 'What's Your Poison' on paper
