The film is based on recordings from three concerts at New York Madison Square Garden, held in the framework of the American Tour of 1973. The track listing includes songs from all released by the time of the five albums (Led Zeppelin I - IV and Houses Of The Holy). At the same time, the concert recording is interspersed behind the scenes footage and cinematic segments.
