Marte Solbakken quit playing music when her family fell apart. She ended up in foster care as a teenager and didn’t play an instrument until more than a decade later when, holed up in a New York blizzard, she picked up a guitar and penned her first songs.

Realizing that she had reconnected with an essential part of herself, she soon decided to pursue a career in music.

Many songs later, she is releasing her debut EP under the moniker Lilyer with the help of producer Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes, Dum Dum Girls) and mixer Andrew Miller (Kristin Kontrol, Blond Ambition, Dum Dum Girls).
