The Jazz musician from Louisville, Kentucky, famous as a bandleader,
percussionist, drummer and pianist as well, became known to a
wider audience when he joined Benny Goodman's ensemble in 1936.
Later on "Hamp" also went on to work with Louis Armstrong, Oscar
Peterson, Stan Getz, and many more, being equally impressive a
soloist in Swing, Bebop and even modern Soul Jazz.
This 10 CD-box documents nineteen of his greatest original albums.
