After releasing "Metaphysical Graffiti" (closer to tape music/ sound art inspirations) with weirdo Italian label Artetetra in 2022, "Memory Hole" is the second album by the musician and video-artist Loris Cericola.Recovered some nocturnal sessions and recordings produced in the post-pandemic summer of 2021, this is a collection of tracks composed exclusively for the live performances and it's a spontaneous game of melodies, interlocks of sounds and liminal atmospheres.
Focused on using analog synthesizers, magnetic tapes and old keyboards manufactured in the 70s in the Marche region, "Memory Hole" mixing the "sonic" power with a specific melodic research, taking inspiration by elements from 70s European "kosmische musik", minimalism and early Italian experimental progressive, through cinematic compositions with a "horizontal" schematic made by harmonic and melodic stratifications, abrasive basses and repetions on themes.
"Memory Hole" is a phantasmagoric absence: a hauntologic liminal zone where we find fractures and repetitions, interruptions and weaves, hard to untangle, untraceable.
