Lydia Ayers composes with unlimited just intonation in Csound and with a 75-tone Indian/Partch scale on the "Woodstock Gamelan," a tubular percussion instrument built to her specifications by Woodstock Percussion. She has modeled the Woodstock Gamelan and other gamelan instruments using Csound.

The research for some of the sounds used in the music on this CD was supported in part by the Hong Kong Research Grant Council's Project HKUST6167/03E. Special thanks to Andrew Horner for his collaboration in the instrument designs for the Woodstock Gamelan, Jean-Claude Risset for his gong design, Judy Klein for her bell design, Geert Jan Van Oldenborgh for samples of the Delft gamelan tones and Anna Rubin for a hammer-like instrument used in track 13.
