The Bjurum organ

At the Västergötlands museum there is an organ made by Nicolaus Manderscheidt in Nuremberg about 1643—1651. In 1651 it was occupied as a house organ at Visingsborg Castle and belonged to Per Brahe the younger. It was donated around 1660 to Brahe church on Visingsö, but was placed on Erik Dahlbergh's order in 1691 to Jönköping Castle. The organ was returned to Visingsö in 1772, where it was sold to a school teacher. In 1829, however, it was mentioned in the accounts of Bjurum's church and was repaired there in the 1860s by A. G. Wernquist. After being exempted from Stora Bjurum's mansion, the organ was purchased by Västergötland's ancient memory association in 1918 and was stored in Skara. It was restored by Mads Kjersgaard in 1972-1976 on behalf of the museum.
