Tracks A1 and A2 are not Richard Strauss conducting, as the label states, but Hugo Reichenberger. This was revealed by Peter Morse in his Strauss discography in the "ARSC Journal", 9/1, 1977, p. 57. The authors of "EJS: Discography of the Edward J. Smith Recordings" (Greenwood, 1994) described this record as "another of the very complicated Smith issues" (p. 305). They describe and analyse its contents in detail at pp. 303-6.
