Tracks 1-16: Recorded in a basement home-studio in Rome in 1971 on two 4-track reel-to-reel recorders. Original sessions mixed and mastered at RCA Studios, Rome. Originally issued in June 1972.

Tracks 17-19: Recorded in London in the autumn of 1976 in an unknown studio.

Tracks 20-21: Recorded in Los Angeles in the spring and summer of 1976, in an unknown studio.

Tracks 22: Recorded in the Inner Niger Delta, Mali, in the spring of 1980, on a portable cassette recorder.
