Release Date: 1963Label: In Records
This appears to be a demo recording intended to showcase the music of the then still relatively unknown singer-songwriter, Mason Williams.Unlike several of the other Williams demos currently in the database which were produced by the publisher, Davon Music, this one came from In Music, another music publishing outfit. Whether Williams' relationship with In Music came before or after his time with Davon is unknown.
Nevertheless, many of the songs on Side One of this album can also be found on the Davon releases. Moreover, the recordings are identical, suggesting that the Williams catalog had been sold at some point from one of those companies to the other, Side Two features five songs that were not issued on the other demos, or anywhere else for that matter ("The Knight," "Rose Of Agony," "Oklahoma," "Whistlin', Hummin', Singin'," "Ballad Of The Fort Worth Killing")
