6 panel cardboard sleeve with liner notes and hype sticker

Recorded in November, 1969 at Pacific High Studios, San Francisco.

Album dedicated to the memory of Bill Young and Mel Graves.

This CD is the first official issue of an unreleased Zeitlin / Graves / Marsh LP recorded in 1969 which only existed as a custom run of an LP for demo purposes prior to a very limited unofficial private release in 2016 under the title Zeitgeist - Zeitgeist. not to be confused with Zeitlin's entirely different 1967 Columbia release Denny Zeitlin - Zeitgeist. Since the only previous versions consisted of a test pressing for demo use and an unofficial release (without the artist's permission), this is technically not a reissue.

Hype sticker: "The missing entry in jazz pianist / composer / psychiatrist Denny Zeitlin's discography (...) Pressed in a custom run as a demo in 1969 - its vocals awaiting substitution with professional singers (...) After it was discovered in 2003, Zeitlin steadfastly resisted its release. Followhing his reappraisal, this album is issued with its creator's blessing and guidance (...) NA 5227-CD"

From the liner notes: "His long-time, close friend, Bill Young, suggested they co-produce a project: Zeitlin would write new music and lyrics, and his trio (...) would perform and sing the lyrics, only as a demonstration of what professional singers would later be hired to perform. The project was completed in November 1969, and a scant, custom run of demonstration LPs created for Young's Com\Track, Inc. production company, but no labels were interested (...) The Name Of This Terrain remained unknown and undiscovered until 2003, when Young's death led to half a dozen of the LPs ending up in a thrift store, setting off a gradual, low-level, international buzz. (...) In 2020, Zeitlin was prompted to give the project a fresh listen, and to his surprise, felt it could be released, as long as its demonstration nature be made clear."
