The Discopedia series was recorded using the most modern studio facilities. Attention to every detail of the recording/mastering process has produced albums of unparalleled audio excellence. The master recordings were made on an Ampex MM 1200 24 track recording using Scotch 250 tape with Dolby "A" noise reduction. A battery of microphones used included Neumann, Shure, AKG, Struder, and Sony. Final mixes involved MCI and Ampex (ATR 100) 2 track tape decks using Ampex 456 and Agfa 468 mastering tapes with DBX noise reduction. Lacquers were cut on a Scully mastering lathe coupled with the Capps computer system.
