The debut drone-ambient album Origin from St. Petersburg musician Mono Tape was released on the music label Simphonic Silence Inside. As author says, Origin is an opportunity to touch the light and hear a quiet, barely noticeable flicker of air in the rays of the setting sun. For many years, the need to capture this feeling has pushed Mono Tape to explore the nature of sound. What does light sound like? Soft, cold, bright and diffuse - this album was an attempt to answer this question. Monolithic and dense ambient textures coexist with cold and detached drone landscapes in an effort to penetrate the true essence of things, freed from the rationality that is inherent in the human mind. In the Origin album, field recordings and guitar vibrations are intertwined in bizarre forms, creating a weightless basis for experimenting with air, light, and silence.
