Album Info

Release Date: 1964

Label: Capitol Records

RODS N' RAT FINKS features Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and his Philharmonic Jug and Juice Band plus the hot-dog voices of the wailin' Weirdos. This premiere performance is regarded by many to sound "almost as if people had done it." Actually, Mr. Gassar done it.

The instruments include four flathead Fenders (already dented), one band shift bass, one haulin' harmonica, a T-bone saxophone with scatter shield attached, and two dog-clutch drums replete with rolls and beats, no pleats. Among the singers are a soprano who's a real stroker, a bored baritone, a bobbed baritone, a kooky contralto, one molded mezzo, and a top-end tenor who claims he's really two fivers.
