Liner notes by SoundslikeCornwall:

MRS. ROSEWARNE ENTERTAINS:
This second cassette is a natural follow-up to 'A Bit of a Chat with Mrs Rosewarne' The success of that recording was a surprise to only one person - Mrs Rosewarne herself! Her natural story-telling ability was already well known around Camborne, but now a much wider audience could appreciate it.

One Cornish exile wrote from Saudi Arabia: Your cassette has enabled me to keep my sanity out here" Lilla Miller is naturally modest and even a little shy -"I feel more like doing it if I dress up." The Mrs. Rosewarne fur coat and flowery dress has been part of the local entertainment scene for some years now.

Originally part of a double act with Mrs. Penrose (Beryl Burchell), Lilla now finds herself in great demand amongst W.I.'s and other groups all over the county. Although she claims to be an 'old timer' and thinks younger people should be given a chance to entertain, the Young Farmers love Mrs. Rosewarne too, and frequently ask her for a story or two at their functions.

Where did the stage-name come from? Lilla has been a member of the Rosewarne group of the W.I. for many years, and her home in Park Road looks out on the site of the Holman family residence at Rosewarne in Camborne. Clearly it is a name which blends with the area, as do the stories - although many are adapted from those of other story-tellers and sometimes cartoons in newspapers. Lilla is always on the lookout for amusing situations which she can pass on in her own way. The secret of Mrs. Rosewarne's success is her naturalness - listen to her and enjoy her, but do your best to meet her. You'll agree with me that Lilla Miller IS Mrs. Rosewarne

The "Queen of Camborne" became a legend through her stories broadcast on Radio Cornwall's Morning Sou'West programme with Chris Blount. Sadly she is no longer with us but her humour lives on.
