"The Sonorine was usually a pre-recorded disc like a record but other 'talking postcards' allowed you to record your own message onto the disc. I like the idea that these records allow anyone to capture a set of sounds and replay them in a completely different environment as a means of communication. When I started gathering the material for this release, I wanted to capture recordings from specific places and then present them framed and edited like you would with images on a postcard." - JH
