Release Date: 1988Label: Flying Nun Records
The first pressing of this release was one of the first Flying Nun vinyl pressings made in Australia after the NZ EMI record pressing plant was shut down. Unfortunately the quality of the pressing was quiet and tinny sounding. Considering the high quality of the digital master- this was not ideal.Shortly after, Flying Nun switched to a different Australian pressing plant with new disc cutting gear and excellent sound quality. Mud Babies was reissued with a much improved result as heard on NRA - Mud Babies.
Both these releases are under the same catalog number FN128. The covers are the same but the first pressing features a black & yellow, Chris Knox designed centre label on both sides of the record, while the better sounding reissue has the more standard pink Flying Nun centre label on side one, and yellow label on side two.
Unlike the back cover, track A4 is printed on the label as "Accala" and track B3 as "Mouzen".
