phone, Pearl Microphone Laborotory (Sweden) Type K-12, located 2--7 meters from the
instruments in the choir of the church. The same recording settings were kept throughout
all sessions.
Double laminated gatefold sleeve notes printed in English. The text consists of two rather large sections. First comes
an essay by the musicologist Carl-Allan Moberg on the historical context of Queen Christina
of Sweden in relation to music, sociology, and practical philosophy from the time of her
accession to the throne into her late age. Then follows an even larger exposition by Gunnar
Larsson describing each recorded piece of music and the relevant composers. With the excep-
tion of the Motet by Carissimi, the original lyrics are incorporated into each paragraph as the
presentation proceeds according to track order.
