这是尼基尔·班纳吉 1967 年 7 月 9 日在加州伯克利 KPFA 电台的录音，首次制作成黑胶并在中国出版，音源来自两个开盘带。1988 年，美国厂牌 Raga Records 曾出版过 CD 和磁带。
几年前，制作人涂飞很偶然地获得这两个开盘带，于是有了出版这张黑胶的想法：尽量将这两个开盘带的内容原汁原味地传播出去，也希望通过这次出版向尼基尔·班纳吉这位伟大的音乐家致敬。而黑胶唱片的封面木刻作品，依旧由我们的“老战友”、艺术家刘庆元操刀；母带处理由刘英工作室负责。
印度古典音乐有着极为复杂的体系，无论是从乐迷角度的欣赏，还是从出版角度的唱片制作，都绝非易事。在此要特别感谢陈韵老师、Tejaswini Niranjana 教授和她的朋友 Deepak Raja、Meena Bannerji，通过他们搭桥牵线，我们才得以联系到尼基尔·班纳吉的女儿米塔·泰戈尔（Mita Tagore）并获得授权。米塔很支持这套录音在中国的出版，在制作过程中她也给予了非常重要的建议。另外，还得感谢我们的好朋友哈比（Habib Rkha），他是印度古典音乐的资深乐迷，也是专家，为我们解开了不少困惑。

These are live recordings of Nikhil Banerjee at KPFA Radio in Berkeley, California, on the 9th of July, 1967. It is for the first time they are made into vinyl record and published in China. The original recordings were on two reel-to-reel tapes. In 1988, American record label Raga Records released these recordings on both CD and cassette.
Until a few years ago, it was by chance that producer Tu Fei got hold of these reel-to-reel tapes and decided to release the vinyl version, hoping to present the contents to the audience as authentic as they are and pay tribute to the great musician Nikhil Banerjee. The woodcut artwork on the cover was by our long-term partner, artist Liu Qingyuan. Liu Ying's studio handled the mastering work.
Special thanks to Chen Yun, professor Tejaswini Nirajana and her friends Deepak Raja and Meena Bannerji, for it would not be possible for us to get in touch with Nikhil Banerjee's daughter Mita Tagore and get her authorization without their kind introduction. Mita has been very supportive of this release in China and has given us important suggestions during the process. We would also like to thank our friend Habi (Habib Rkha). He is an enthusiast and expert of Indian classical music who cleared up much confusion for us.
