Album Info

Release Date: 1969

Label: The Golden Age Of Opera

The performance was broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera House on 15 April 1938. Bodanzky conducted Acts 1 and 3, and Leinsdorf conducted Act 2. The labels state "PRIVATE RECORD NOT FOR SALE". The label includes the singer "Bada D'Angelo" (presumably a reference to Angelo Badà, a Metropolitan Opera House singer), but it was Louis D'Angelo who sang in the performance: The New York Times, Saturday, April 16, 1938, p.17.
